Privacy Policy

This page explains what information we collect on this website, why we collect it and what we do with it. We kept it short and in plain words on purpose.

01Who we are

Grayshaper is a web design, development and SEO studio based in Chattagram, Bangladesh. When we say “we” or “us” on this page, we mean Grayshaper.

02What we collect

We only collect a small amount of information, and most of it comes from you.

  • What you send us. If you use the contact form, we get your name, your email address, the kind of help you need and the message you write.
  • A scrambled copy of your IP address. To stop spam we keep a hashed version of your IP address next to your message. We can't turn it back into your real address.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is for security and to keep the site running.
  • Analytics data. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use the site. They collect information such as which pages you visit, how long you stay, your general location (country or city level), device type, browser and screen size. This data is anonymous and cannot identify you personally.
  • Advertising data. We use the Meta Pixel from Facebook to see whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram bring people here. It records which pages you visit, and whether you tap our WhatsApp or Messenger buttons or send the contact form. When you send the form, Meta also gets a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address, so it can match the visit to our ads. Meta can link this to your Facebook or Instagram account.
  • Your theme choice. If you switch between light and dark mode, your browser remembers it on your device. We never receive it.

We don't show ads on this website. We do advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and the Meta Pixel tells us whether those ads lead to visits and messages. You can control the ads Meta shows you in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.

03How we use it

  • To read your message, reply to you and prepare a quote.
  • To keep a record of the enquiries we get.
  • To protect the website and the contact form from spam and misuse.
  • To fix problems and keep the website working well.
  • To understand how visitors use the site so we can make it better.

We don't sell your information. We also won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.

04Who else handles your information

We use a few other companies to run this website. They only handle your information to do their job for us.

  • Vercel hosts the website.
  • Supabase stores the messages sent through the contact form.
  • Resend sends us an email when someone uses the contact form.
  • Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data so we can see how the site is used.
  • Microsoft Clarity records anonymous session replays and heatmaps so we can improve the experience.
  • Meta (Facebook) receives the advertising data described above, to measure our ads.
  • WhatsApp and Messenger, both from Meta, carry the message if you contact us through them.

These companies are based in other countries, so your information may be processed outside Bangladesh. Our social media links take you to other websites, such as X, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and GitHub. Those sites have their own privacy rules, and we don't control them.

05How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to two years. If we end up working together, or the law says we must keep something longer, we keep it for as long as that takes. After that we delete it.

06Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will answer within 30 days. To ask, get in touch using the details at the bottom of this page.

07Keeping it safe

The website uses HTTPS, and only the people who need to see your messages can open them. No website can promise perfect security, but we take care of the information you give us.

08Children

This website is for businesses and adults. It is not meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

09Changes to this page

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we change the date at the top of the page. If the change is big, we will make it easy to notice.
